Still preparing for Italy...
Some of you would already know that I'm not leaving tomorrow (Thursday) after all, but instead - Saturday. Ministry in Italy decided we didn't have to be there any sooner than a day before our class commence.
They are right, but it just doesn't make sense to arrive on Sunday when everything is closed. So.. great, on Monday just when I'm to start class, I've to register the same morning, take my placement test the same time and look for a place to stay, all in one day.
Like the officer who helped me said, "it will be troublesome, but you will survive". Did I mention that due to some mix-up, I've to travel 2-3 hours by bus/train every month to collect my sponsored allowance?
Yes, Siena is a great town I won't deny that but it all didn't sound too pleasing in one day, but I guess it will be fine, just not too excited about spending 20 Euro to get my monthly allowance.
Mom ask to do a check-list but I'm so lazy. My backpack is still covered in plastic bag, I don't know what's going in or not, I've not study for my placement test, I've not got my air ticket - I'm procrastinating as usual.
Best part is, I've not got all my facts/tips written down in a notebook (which I usually do) - I have to write down exactly how I will get to Perugia from Rome or the cheapest way to get to Napoli and Venice and super cheap way to get to Croatia, Poland and etc. These are all vital prior to leaving. I have to plan. I don't move till I plan. So I suppose Friday & Saturday will be spent surfing the Internet for tips.
Above all this, what matters is, I will be having real gelato coming Sunday and pizza for lunch and panino for dinner and I'll be in Italy.
Did I mention that last Sunday of the month it is free entry to the Vatican Museum? That's what exactly I will do. Save the entrance fee of 10 Euro and this time go with the tour guide (www.romeingtours.com) and when I enter Sistine Chapel, this time I will look at the ceiling. (Did I mention that I didn't look up for that famous painting the first and last time I went?).
